Full Moon Magic, Virgo Season & Finding Our Rhythm Again
There’s something changing in the air… Only slightly, admittedly, and I’m not trusting it yet.
After what feels like approximately six thousand years of heat, the evenings are starting to feel a little cooler, the light looks softer, the mornings have that faint crispness about them, and everything feels just a little dimmer around the edges.
It almost feels like autumn is on its way.
Almost.
I say that very cautiously because this could absolutely be false autumn, where we all put on a cardigan, light a candle, start talking about soup and then get our arses roasted by the sun again three days later. Still, something is shifting.
The land feels tired after such a brutal summer, the grass has been scorched, hedgerows have struggled, wildlife has had to work so much harder for water and food, and Mother Earth still feels as though she’s trying to recover.
So even as the temperatures begin to ease, please keep looking after her.
Keep refreshing the water bowls.
Keep an eye on thirsty birds and small animals.
Leave a little food where appropriate.
Let some corners stay wild.
Water what you can.
Care is still needed, even when the weather starts to feel kinder.
And perhaps there’s something in that for us too, just because things begin to settle doesn’t mean we suddenly have to sprint again.
September Energy Is Creeping In
We’re also moving towards that familiar September shift…
Children are heading back to school, work routines begin to settle, summer holidays end is in sight, diaries fill up again, alarms get set, lunches need making, uniforms appear from cupboards in various states of chaos, and suddenly normal life begins to reassemble itself.
There can be something quite comforting about that can’t there? September has always felt a little like a second January to me, a bit of a reset.
Not the cold, pressure-filled “new year, new me” nonsense, but a softer return to structure.
A chance to ask ourselves, what do I want my routine to feel like? How do I want to move through my days? Where do I need more space? Where do I need more support? Where have I been putting myself last?
And if summer has been chaotic, busy, hot, noisy or just a lot, this could be a lovely time to start making a little room for yourself again.
It doesn’t have to be bold or dramatic, sometimes self-care is simply putting your own appointment in the diary before everything else fills it.
Virgo Season
There’s another shift happening around this time too, we’re moving out of the fiery, expressive energy of Leo season and into Virgo season.
After all that Leo fire, warmth and outward energy, Virgo can begin to feel like someone has opened a window and helped us find our feet again, bringing a more grounded, practical and thoughtful energy.
It’s associated with routines, wellbeing, organisation, tending to the details and making small improvements that genuinely support everyday life.
Virgo season isn’t about becoming perfectly organised or turning your life into a colour-coded spreadsheet.
It’s about noticing what needs care, what would make your days easier? What small habit would support your body? What can be cleared, repaired, simplified or gently put back in its place?
After the “fire” of Leo season, this grounding energy can be a welcome reminder that we don’t have to perform our way through the next chapter.
We can tend, we can refine, and we can return to the things that help us feel well.
Sunday to Tuesday – Waxing Moon in Capricorn
Structure, Commitment & Building Something Solid
We begin the week with the waxing moon in Capricorn.
Capricorn is grounded, practical and quietly ambitious, it doesn’t really care how inspired you feel, it wants to know what you’re actually going to do.
Which, depending on your mood, is either deeply motivating or mildly irritating! But this is really useful energy as we move back towards routine.
Capricorn asks us to make things sustainable rather than perfect.
So if you want more rest, where does it go in the week?
If you want to move your body more, when?
If you want more time for creativity, what can you protect?
If you want more confidence, more connection, more calm, what is the small repeated action that supports that?
Capricorn Ritual: Build the Foundation
Take a piece of paper and write one thing you want to strengthen through September.
Then underneath, write:
“What would make this easier to maintain?”
You might need:
- A set day
- A reminder
- A boundary
- A basket by the door
- A meal plan
- A booking system
- A quieter morning
- Someone else to help
Choose one practical thing and put it in place this week.
Then say:
“I build slowly, I build steadily, I build what can hold me.”
That’s the Capricorn magic.
Wednesday & Thursday – Waxing Moon in Aquarius
Fresh Thinking, Freedom & Doing Things Differently
By Wednesday, the moon moves into Aquarius and the energy starts to feel lighter.
Aquarius is wonderful for stepping back and looking at your life from a different angle.
It asks: “Does this actually work for me?”
This is brilliant energy for breaking habits that have become stale, trying a new approach or questioning routines that no longer fit.
Maybe your mornings don’t need to look like someone else’s. Maybe your self-care doesn’t need to be yoga, journaling and a green smoothie at 5am.
Maybe your reset is an evening walk, a massage, ten minutes alone in the car before going inside, or going to bed without folding the washing.
Honestly, the revolution can begin anywhere!
Aquarius Ritual: Rewrite One Rule
Write down one rule you seem to have made for yourself.
Something like:
“I should always be productive.”
“I have to say yes.”
“Rest has to be earned.”
“I need to do everything perfectly.”
Then cross it out. Underneath, write a new version that actually supports you.
For example:
“Rest is part of how I stay well.”
“No is a complete answer.”
“Good enough is allowed.”
“I can change how I do things.”
Keep it somewhere visible this week, sometimes the spell is simply deciding the old rule no longer applies.
Friday – Full Moon in Pisces
Intuition, Emotion & Letting the Waters Move
Then we arrive at the Full Moon in Pisces and this one feels beautifully placed.
Pisces is intuitive, emotional, imaginative, compassionate and deeply connected to what sits beneath the surface.
Full moons illuminate, they show us what has been building, what we’ve avoided, what we already know, what we’ve been feeling but perhaps haven’t had the words for yet.
This is less about pushing forward and more about listening.
Where Capricorn asked for structure and Aquarius asked for freedom, Pisces asks us to soften enough to hear ourselves.
You might feel more emotional under this moon, you might feel nostalgic, you might feel tired, you might have vivid dreams or you might suddenly know something you’ve been trying to reason your way around for weeks.
Try not to rush to fix it… Just listen.
Pisces Full Moon Ritual: What Do I Already Know?
Light a candle and place a bowl of water beside it.
Sit quietly for a few minutes, then write:
What am I pretending not to know?
What feeling keeps returning?
What am I ready to release as the season begins to turn?
Then place your fingertips into the water.
As you do, say:
“I trust what rises, I honour what I feel, I release what no longer needs to stay.”
When you’re finished, take the water outside and pour it onto the earth.
Let it become part of something larger.
Preparing for the Season Ahead
The light is changing… The year is turning.
Virgo season gives us a lovely invitation to prepare in small, practical ways rather than suddenly realising in October that you’ve been living in summer mode for six months.
You might begin by:
- Bringing a little seasonal colour into your altar
- Collecting fallen leaves
- Drying herbs
- Refreshing candles
- Clearing one cupboard
- Washing blankets
- Making a list of things you’d like to enjoy in the coming months
- Planning slower evenings
- Spending more time outside while the light is still generous
- Creating one simple routine that helps you feel grounded
A Small Seasonal Threshold Ritual
Preparing for a new season doesn’t need to be about rushing ahead, it can simply be about noticing.
Stand at your front door one evening.
Open it.
Feel the air.
Take a breath and say:
“I honour the season that is leaving, I welcome the season that is beginning, and I move with the turning year.”
Then close the door and light a candle inside.
Simple, grounded, a little magical, exactly enough.
Making Time for Yourself Again
With routines returning, this can also be a really good moment to stop waiting for “a quieter week”.
Because apparently those do not exist… If you’ve been telling yourself you’ll book something when things calm down, maybe this is your reminder that you are allowed to make space before everything else claims it.
Our one-to-one appointments are available at The Goddess Haven, whether you need massage, Reiki, sound therapy, reflexology, manual lymphatic drainage or simply some time where the focus is entirely on you.
And sometimes that hour does more than we expect.
It can reset the nervous system, create breathing space, help us reconnect with ourselves or simply give us permission to stop for a while.
No big breakthrough required, sometimes “I feel better” is enough.
The Conscious Breath Open Day- 13th Sept ( between 10:30 – 5pm)
We also have a really exciting Open Day coming up at The Conscious Breath.
I’ll be there alongside Dean and some of the wonderful yoga instructors and facillitators with lots of different taster sessions happening throughout the day.
It’s a lovely opportunity to come and see the space if you haven’t visited yet, meet some of the people who work there, try something new and get a feel for the different classes, therapies and experiences available under one roof.
There’ll be plenty going on, plenty to explore and, I suspect, quite a lot of chatting.
If you’ve been curious about the space, this is the perfect excuse to come and have a look around.
Witches’ Bells Workshop
And next weekend we have our Witches’ Bells Workshop! This one is such a lovely mix of craft, folklore and intention.
You’ll be creating your own set of witches’ bells to hang on a door, wall or sacred space, traditionally used for protection, cleansing and warning away unwanted energy.
Expect bells, charms, ribbons, intention and a little bit of witchy chaos. Exactly as it should be!
There are only a couple of spaces remaining for this one.
Witches Bells Workshop – 30th Aug
A Thought for the Week
This time of year can feel strange with a part of us is still in summer, part of us can already feel the season changing, part of us wants routine, part of us wants to cling to the long evenings, and maybe we don’t need to choose yet.
We can stand in the middle, we can let one season loosen its grip while another starts whispering at the edges.
We can move from the bright fire of Leo season into the steadier, more grounded energy of Virgo without demanding perfection from ourselves.
We can tend to the Earth as she recovers as we can tend to ourselves as we return to routine.
We can let the Pisces moon remind us that not everything needs to be solved; some things simply need to be felt.
And we can move into September without demanding that we become a whole new person.
Maybe we just need to come back to ourselves and make a little space for a deeper breath.
Weekly Intention
“I create structure that supports me, I make space for what matters, I trust my intuition and move gently with the turning season.”
Until next week,
With love,
Marie xx
