Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage

Gentle support for your body’s natural lymphatic system

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a specialised, gentle massage technique that uses slow, rhythmic movements to encourage the natural movement of lymph throughout the body. Unlike traditional massage, MLD works with very light pressure, creating a deeply relaxing treatment designed to support your body’s natural drainage processes and overall wellbeing.

The lymphatic system plays an important role in maintaining fluid balance and supporting immune function. When lymph flow becomes sluggish, it can contribute to feelings of heaviness, puffiness and fluid retention. Manual Lymphatic Drainage aims to encourage the natural movement of lymph, helping you to feel lighter, more comfortable and deeply relaxed.

Every treatment begins with a full consultation to ensure the therapy is appropriate for you and tailored to your individual needs.

Many people choose Manual Lymphatic Drainage if they experience:

  • Fluid retention or swelling
  • Feelings of heaviness or puffiness
  • Tired, aching legs
  • Long periods of sitting or standing
  • General stress and tension
  • A desire for deep relaxation
  • Fibromyalgia*
  • Chronic fatigue*
  • Migraines or tension headaches*
  • Sinus congestion*
  • Recovery following illness or surgery (once medically appropriate)
  • A feeling of being “stuck” or sluggish
  • Menopausal bloating and water retention
  • Regular self-care and wellbeing

*Suitability will always be discussed during your consultation, as every individual and health condition is different.

What to expect

Your appointment will begin with a thorough consultation before you settle comfortably on the therapy couch.

Using slow, gentle and rhythmic movements, the treatment follows the natural pathways of the lymphatic system, encouraging healthy lymph flow whilst allowing your body and mind to completely relax.

Unlike a traditional massage, there is no deep pressure. Many clients describe the treatment as calming, soothing and almost meditative, often leaving with a wonderful sense of lightness and wellbeing.

For those booking the extended 90-minute treatment, an optional 5-minute vibration plate session is included where appropriate following consultation.

Those booking a 60-minute treatment have the option to include an 5 minutes vibration plate session for £5 if suitable following consultation.

Benefits of Manual Lymphatic Drainage may include:

  • Encouraging healthy lymphatic circulation
