Witchcraft Foundations is a four-week practical course for anyone curious about witchcraft and wanting to explore it beyond the aesthetic, whether you’re completely new, have been quietly dabbling for years, or simply feel there’s something here calling you to know more.

And yes… it’s October. If you’re partly here because it’s witch season and you fancy spending four deliciously witchy weeks surrounded by candles, herbs, smoke and magic, you are absolutely welcome too. 🖤

This isn’t about teaching you one “right” way to be a witch, and you won’t be expected to follow any particular religion, tradition or belief system.

Instead, we’ll explore the foundations of modern witchcraft, learn about different traditions and practices, and most importantly, actually practise.

Expect less sitting and listening, and much more touching, smelling, creating, experimenting, questioning and discovering what resonates with you.

🌑 Week One – Crossing the Threshold

The Witch, Energy, Cleansing & Protection

We begin with the foundations: what witchcraft is (and isn’t), different paths within the Craft, energy, intention, grounding and creating sacred space.

You’ll explore and practise different methods of cleansing and protection, including smoke, sound, salt, water, anointing and energetic techniques, and begin learning how to prepare yourself and your space for magical work.

🌿 Week Two – The Witch’s Tools

Elements, Altars, Herbs, Crystals & Correspondences

Meet some of the tools and materials witches have worked with throughout different traditions and discover how and why we use them.

We’ll explore the elements, altars, magical tools, herbs, crystals, oils, colours, symbols and correspondences with plenty available to handle, explore and experiment with.

You’ll begin discovering not simply what something corresponds with, but how to choose magical ingredients and tools intentionally for yourself.

🔥 Week Three – Spellcraft

Building & Casting Your Own Magic

Rather than handing you a collection of spells to copy, this week teaches you how to build one.

We’ll explore candle magic, herbs, petitions, sigils, knot magic, charms, spell jars, magical timing and different ways of raising and directing energy.

Then you’ll put what you’ve learned into practice and begin constructing spellwork of your own.

🔮 Week Four – Walking the Path

Divination, Spirits, Ancestors & Your Own Craft

Our final week takes us a little deeper.

Explore different forms of divination, including cards, pendulums, runes and scrying, alongside an introduction to ancestors, spirit work, deity practice, offerings, signs, synchronicities and discernment.

We’ll also explore lunar and seasonal practice, the Wheel of the Year and keeping a grimoire or Book of Shadows.

Finally, we’ll bring everything together with a beautiful personal dedication ritual, not an initiation into any particular tradition, but an opportunity to mark the beginning or deepening of your own path.

Your Witchcraft Foundations Workbook

You’ll receive your own course workbook to use throughout the four weeks and keep afterwards.

Alongside course notes and useful reference material, it will contain practical exercises, journal prompts, correspondence guides, space to record your experiences, recommended reading, home-practice invitations and Into Your Grimoire pages to help you begin building your own magical reference.

🖤 Who is this for?

Complete beginners are very welcome.

You don’t need to identify as a witch. You don’t need to be Pagan or Wiccan. You don’t need to work with deities, own tarot cards, know your moon phases or have a cupboard full of herbs and crystals.

Bring your curiosity. We’ll start there.

Younger witches are welcome too – 
Witchcraft Foundations is suitable from age 13 when attending alongside a participating parent, guardian or other responsible adult. This can be a beautiful opportunity to explore and learn together, whether that’s mother & daughter, auntie & niece, or another trusted grown-up and young person.

Witchcraft Foundations is open to young people aged 13–17 when attending alongside a participating adult, perfect for mums and daughters, aunties and nieces, older siblings, or any grown-up and young witch who would love to learn together.

Young witches take part in the full course alongside everyone else, with their own workbook, practical materials and activities.

Adult place: £125
Young Witch place: £95
