Balancing the Scales, Deep Release, and a New Moon Reset Before the Turning of the Year

There’s a particular kind of tired that creeps in at this point in December.

Not the dramatic burnout kind, but the quieter, heavier fatigue of holding too many expectations at once. The kind that sits in the body while the calendar keeps asking for more.

As we edge closer to Christmas, it’s easy to forget that winter is not meant for constant output. Nature is resting. The earth is gathering herself inward. And yet, we’re often encouraged to do the opposite… to push, perform, socialise, host, and hold everyone else together.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, if you’ve felt stretched lately, overwhelmed, or quietly longing for space, this week’s moon is here to remind you:

You’re allowed to slow down.

You’re allowed to say no.

You’re allowed to tend to yourself first.

In fact, I would say it’s essential that you do. Burn out at this time of year is incredibly common.

This Week’s Lunar Energy 🌙

Sunday–Monday | Waning Moon in Libra

Libra invites balance, but not at the cost of your wellbeing. This phase asks us to notice where we are over giving, people pleasing, or bending to keep the peace.

Self care for Libra:

• Cancel one non essential commitment

• Create beauty without productivity, light candles, tidy a small space

• Ask yourself, “Is this a true yes?” and honour the answer

Tuesday–Wednesday | Moon moves into Scorpio

Scorpio energy is deep, emotional, and transformative. This is where feelings surface, often ones we’ve been quietly carrying for weeks. It’s not a time to suppress, but to gently release.

Self care for Scorpio:

• Journaling without censoring yourself

• Long baths or showers, letting the water carry things away

• Placing a hand on the lower belly and breathing slowly

Thursday–Friday | Moon in Sagittarius

Sagittarius lifts us slightly out of the depths, offering perspective, hope, and meaning. This is the phase where we remember that rest is not giving up, it’s recalibrating.

Self care for Sagittarius:

• Fresh air, even briefly

• Reading something inspiring rather than scrolling

• Reconnecting with a personal intention for the season

Saturday | New Moon in Capricorn

This New Moon is quiet, grounded, and deeply practical. Capricorn doesn’t ask us to overhaul our lives, it asks us to build sustainably. Slowly. With care.

This is a powerful moment to reset boundaries as we move toward the end of the year.

New Moon Ritual: Grounded Intentions

You’ll need:

• A candle

• A pen and paper

• Something grounding, a stone, a mug of tea, or your feet on the floor

  1. Light your candle and take three slow breaths, lengthening the exhale.

  2. Write one intention for the weeks ahead that supports your energy, not your productivity.

  3. Beneath it, write one boundary that will help protect that intention.

Speak aloud or silently:

“I honour my limits.

I build my days with care.

I choose steadiness over strain.”

Place the paper somewhere safe until the end of the year, letting this intention anchor you through the busy days ahead.

🌿 Nervous System Reset for the Week

As the festive season approaches, regulating the nervous system becomes essential rather than optional.

Try this once a day:

• Place one hand on your chest, one on your belly

• Inhale for 4, exhale for 6

• Name three things you can see, two you can feel, one you can hear

This simple practice signals safety to the body and brings you back into the present moment.

Remember, rest is not something you earn. It’s something you need.

🌹Haven Highlight | Womb Wellness Wednesday

Womb Healing Circle — starting Wednesday 17th December

This week also marks the beginning of Womb Wellness Wednesday, a gentle womb healing circle created as a space for rest, reconnection, and deep listening.

This is not about fixing or forcing. It’s about coming home to the body, honouring cycles, and softening into support during a season that can feel overwhelming.

If you’re craving:

• Grounded feminine connection

• Emotional release

• A slower, safer space to land

This circle begins at exactly the right time.

Intention for the Week Ahead

As the year winds down and the moon grows dark,

I choose care over pressure, rest over expectation.

I hold my boundaries with love

and meet myself gently in the turning of the year.

Until next week,

With love
