Imbolc & the Full Moon in Leo
There’s a brightness in the air this week, not loud, not overwhelming, but definitely unmistakable!
We’ve spent January wintering, listening, resting and softening the nervous system. Moving slowly enough to hear ourselves again, and now, as we step into Imbolc, something ancient begins to stir.
The earth is not fully awake yet but she is stretching. And so are we.
This is the threshold between rest and becoming, between dark and returning light, between holding ourselves quietly… and beginning to extend our edges just a little.
Not to perform or to impress, but to exist more fully. (And yes, you’re still allowed to be cosy while doing it!)
Imbolc: The Festival of Returning Light
Imbolc marks the first whisper of spring beneath the soil. It’s a celebration of renewal, intention, creativity, and the sacred spark of life that refuses to stay dormant.
This is not the season of full bloom, this is the season of ignition, a reminder that growth begins invisibly.
Imbolc invites us to honour:
• New ideas
• Quiet courage
• Inner fire
• Creative impulses
• Self-belief
• The version of ourselves waiting to step forward
You don’t have to leap, you just have to light the candle, and maybe crack the cocoon open a tiny bit.
🌕 Full Moon in Leo
Sunday → Monday
This Full Moon carries bold, heart-centred Leo energy. It asks a simple but powerful question:
Where are you ready to take up space?
Leo is not about arrogance. It’s about authenticity.
It’s about standing in your own light without shrinking to make others comfortable. It’s about remembering that joy is not frivolous, and self-expression is not selfish.
After a month of inward tending, this moon says:
You are allowed to be seen.
Not all at once. Not dramatically. Just truthfully.
Think less “main character energy” and more “I’m going to sit a little taller and stop apologising for existing.”
🌕 Full Moon Ritual: Quiet Emergence
You’ll need:
• A candle
• A mirror
• A quiet moment
Light the candle and look gently at your reflection.
Say aloud:
“I am allowed to exist fully.
I do not need to shrink to belong.
I honour the light within me.”
Then write one way you are ready to extend yourself this month, not a reinvention, a small edge.
Examples:
• Speaking up in a meeting
• Sharing something creative
• Wearing the outfit you actually like
• Saying what you mean
• Trying the thing you’ve been circling
• Taking a compliment without deflecting it
Fold the paper and keep it somewhere safe.
🔥 A Leo Confidence Breath (Private Roaring Encouraged)
Leo is fire in the chest. Confidence in the lungs.
Try this breathwork when you need courage:
Inhale deeply through the nose for 4 –
Hold for 2 –
Exhale slowly for 6 with a soft audible “ha” or breathy sigh –
Repeat 3–5 times.
And if you’re somewhere private… a quiet little roar on the exhale is entirely optional and surprisingly effective.
Now I’m not suggesting you roar in Tesco, unless you want to… In which case, I admire the commitment!
This breath activates the body’s power centre and reminds your nervous system that expansion is safe. Confidence isn’t forcing. It’s regulated energy.
Imbolc Ritual for the Week Ahead
Light a candle each morning this week if you can. Even for 30 seconds.
While the flame burns, say:
“I welcome returning light.
I welcome gentle growth.
I welcome the version of me that is emerging.”
No performance required, just repetition & presence.
Wednesday – Moon in Virgo
Virgo brings us gently back into the body and into the practical magic of daily life. After the Leo expansion, Virgo asks:
How do I care for the version of myself that just stepped forward?
This is an ideal day for:
• Tidying your physical space
• Organising something small that’s been lingering
• Preparing nourishing food
• Tending to your body with kindness
• Completing one manageable task
Virgo reminds us that confidence is supported by structure.
A tiny Virgo ritual:
Clean one small area intentionally. As you do, say:
“I create space for clarity and calm.”
Not a full house overhaul. Just one corner of your world.
Friday – Moon in Libra
Libra brings balance, beauty and relational awareness.
This is a beautiful day for:
• Checking in with friendships
• Smoothing over small tensions
• Creating harmony in your environment
• Dressing in a way that feels expressive
• Surrounding yourself with beauty
Libra asks:
Where can I choose grace over friction?
A simple Libra practice:
Light a candle and text someone you appreciate.
Not for a reason, just because connection is sacred.
Balance is not perfection, It’s conscious adjustment.
Stepping Outside the Cocoon
We are not abandoning self-care this week. We are evolving it.
Self-care may now look like:
• Taking small social risks
• Letting joy show
• Saying the thing you’d usually swallow
• Moving toward what excites you
• Allowing yourself to be visible in safe ways
Growth doesn’t cancel softness, it sits on top of it.
You’re not leaving the cocoon behind but carrying its warmth with you.
Affirmations for the Leo Full Moon
I am allowed to be visible.
I am allowed to be joyful.
I am allowed to take up space.
I honour my light without apology.
I extend gently and bravely.
I trust the timing of my becoming.
Intention for the Week Ahead
“I welcome the returning light within me.
I extend gently, truthfully, and bravely.
I honour the spark that is waking.”
Until next week,
with love (and a little roar in aisle 3)
